2011 Food Policy Conference in Portland Oregon

The CFSC will be holding the Food Policy from Neighborhood to Nation Conference in Portland Oregon on May 19th, 20th and 21st, 2011.  The Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), North American organization dedicated to building strong, sustainable, local and regional food systems that ensure access to affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food for all people at all times. Who seek to develop self-reliance among all communities in obtaining their food and to create a system of growing, manufacturing, processing, making available, and selling food that is regionally based and grounded in the principles of justice, democracy and sustainability.

The Conference will include field trips, educational and skill-building workshops, a reception featuring local food and beverages.  This will be a opertunity to advocate and network on important farming bills, hunger issues, food issues and legislation to better the local food community.
