THE HUNGER PREVENTION COALITION OF CENTRAL OREGON PROUDLY ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW BOARD MEMBER

The Hunger Prevention Coalition (“HPC”) of Central Oregon proudly announces the appointment of Mr. Vernon Roberson, M.A. to its team. The Board of Directors at HPC serve as the leadership team responsible for successful fundraising in order to serve the many children and families in need of assistance in Deschutes County.

vernon_robertson When he is not managing three clinical departments at Bend Memorial Clinic (Oncology, Rheumatology, Pulmonology), Roberson will add great value to the HPC. He will begin with development of a marketing campaign to build greater exposure for the program as a whole, with the primary goal of increasing the giving to current partners, including Bend’s Community Center, Bethlehem Inn, Community of Christ Church, Family Kitchen, Holy Trinity Community Outreach, Jericho Road, LaPine Community Kitchen, Salvation Army- Bend, Saving Grace, St. Vincent de Paul- Bend, LaPine, Prineville, and Redmond, and The Giving Plate.

Roberson says, “I come from humble beginnings and have created a nice life for myself because of the support that I received along the way.” “To serve your fellow man is a blessing and I try in small and large ways to do so whenever I can,” added Roberson. Two of Roberson’s favorite quotes include,

  • “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile” – Albert Einstein
  • “I have an irrepressible desire to live till I can be assured that the world is a little better for my having lived in it.” – Abraham Lincoln

Roberson’s main purpose of joining HPC is based on his desire to give back to the community. His passion and experience in giving back has included serving on several boards, including Let’s Talk Diversity Coalition, The Bloom Project, Relay for Life, San Diego Alzheimer’s Association, San Diego Council on Aging, and several other single day fundraising events.
